One of Australia's largest private health insurance providers has teamed up with Cricket Australia in a bid to encourage Australians to become healthier over the summer period.
Bupa is currently a major sponsor of the test series currently being played again India, which saw the Australian side beat the visiting side by 122 runs yesterday (December 29).
The healthcare group features prominently both on and off the field and even provides private health insurance to the team.
The partnership was also marked recently with one of the country’s premier four-day competition renamed the Bupa Sheffield Shield.
At the start of the cricket season, Bupa’s director of group development, Mark Engel, said he was confident the insurer would provide significant benefits to the Australian cricket team.
"We're enormously excited to support the Aussie cricket team's healthcare requirements," he said (October 10).
"We appreciate that to be the best in the world you need the very best support crew. And we're committed to ensuring the Aussie team has access to the best practice healthcare support."
Viewers inspired by seeing how fit and healthy their favourite cricketers are may wish to make 2012 the year they take out a private health insurance policy.
